1. プリント:"Which is more important, communication or correct grammar?"
内容の復習
音読:かたまり=CHUNKを意識してフレーズごとに、意味を浮かべながら再現するように。
Comprehension Questions:内容理解&Writing
・いくつかの言い換え可能な表現, 異なる品詞の使用
・簡単な要約文の聞き取り:
"Communication is more important than correct grammar. At the same time,
(however,) students need to learn grammar to successfully communicate. "

2.  間違ってもいいのだが、間違いっぱなしではまずい。コミュニケーションに支障をきたす間違いもあるから
(例)ppt (共有フォルダから入手可)cf. 参考1.

3. 「文法=意味が正しく伝わるように形をととのえるルール
◇文法を学ぶことは、文法用語を学ぶことではない
(例)既習事項との対比から、新しいルールに気づかせる活動(when 節と分詞)
cf. 配布プリント, テキスト10章など
*文法用語は「ラベル」をつけて整理するときに有効。


◇「先生」自身はもちろん文法用語を利用する。
何をどんな順番でどのように教えるかを整理するために、
「ラベル」は不可欠である。
*テキスト(p.203-)の「言語材料」の記述をみて、すぐに対応する例文が浮かぶ
ぐらいが望ましい。

・返却した作文を書き直して提出(メール添付)

1980年代頃、特にトップダウン処理の重要性が注目され(すぎ)た感がある。確かに優秀な読み手はトップダウン処理を効果的に行う。しかし、それが可能になるためには、ボトムアップ処理が「自動化」されていることが必要だ。この点を肝に銘じておくべきであろう。

なぜ「自動化」が重要なのか→自動化していない作業は「メモリを食う」から。トップダウン処理を同時に行うには容量に余裕が必要。
